"Sorry to Bother You" (2018) first film of this guy Boots Riley...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4423256436225847966.post-3733279585323078332018-08-16T18:28:44.362+01:002018-08-16T18:28:44.362+01:00So I managed to see Me and Earl and the Dying Girl...So I managed to see Me and Earl and the Dying Girl yesterday. It does indeed have a similar tone to Brigsby Bear. (It is not about dying! The narrator lets us know early in the film that she won't die.) Both are about a group of friends who have creative obsessions. I second the recommendations.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4423256436225847966.post-27242544284826521192018-08-08T01:33:52.498+01:002018-08-08T01:33:52.498+01:00Yes, that's another film I missed, but at leas...Yes, that's another film I missed, but at least I had heard of the title. Strangely, I hadn't even heard of Frank, despite its good reviews and good cast. I'll make a note of them both. As for the Oscar-winning, hard-hitting Room, of course I have seen that. I think gender is a huge difference between that film and Brigsby Bear, which could only employ a light tone because a young man being held captive doesn't appear so serious. I can see why you compared them though.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13112886753943160738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4423256436225847966.post-41629242710551831432018-08-06T15:54:18.202+01:002018-08-06T15:54:18.202+01:00Thanks! Also Me and Early and the Dying Girl has a more dramatic take on similar themes too.Biffman 101https://www.blogger.com/profile/10163763573158975266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4423256436225847966.post-80586035622260258562018-08-05T19:08:38.227+01:002018-08-05T19:08:38.227+01:00I just saw Brigsby Bear. I consider myself knowledgeable about films, but now I see I still have to get around to seeing My Life as a Courgette, The Disaster Artist and The Limehouse Golem. This site is an invaluable resource in so many different ways. I consider it one of the internet's best-kept secrets.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
