Game DescriptionThe Watchmaker is a 3D real-time puzzle-based adventure game set in and around an ancient castle in present day Austria. Join London lawyer, Victoria Conroy, and paranormal expert, Darrel Boone, on their mission to foil the plans of a fringe group of religious fanatics. - Unlike many traditional adventure games, The Watchmaker frees you from the sensation of moving along a single given path, allowing the freedom to explore the world around you at your own pace.
- "Gorgeous" 3D graphics bring the castle and characters to life, transporting you to a mystical world of intrigue and adventure.
- Control the two main characters independently, with each character exhibiting different personalities, traits, and skills. You can choose between dynamically moving cameras in a third person point-of-view, or subjective first person to examine objects and environments in detail.

ReplyDeleteA demo was published where you can solve the swimming pool puzzle. The demo has a voice comment by one of the developpers (who calls you "Sherlock").
ReplyDeleteAs there is another "The Watchmaker" game, search for something like "The Watchmaker Trecision 2001 Game Demo".
A much underappreciated adventure game IMO, I would guess inspired by games like Gabriel Knight 3. Like that game, The Watchmaker has a couple of questionable puzzles. And a couple of objects are very hard to find due to the open 3D world, free-roaming style of gameplay. But despite a few bad design choices I really liked this game when I played it many years ago. Some patience is needed though, but invest time in it and the game will reward you. Especially highly recommended if you (like me) love the aforementioned GK3.
